MOBILE MUSICSHARING: ATTRACTIVE TODAY, WITH SMOOTH IMS MIGRATION TOMORROW

People today are not only creating their own digital music collections, they are taking the music wherever they go. For the first time, Mobile MusicSharing enables people to use their mobile handsets to easily share and talk about music experiences.

A Mobile MusicSharing session is created by the simultaneous, real-time blending of multiple network enabling services, including presence, instant messaging, conferencing, voice, and data streaming. Underlying the seamless user experience is an integrated solution that includes HP OpenCall Media Platform, Movial\\\\'s Connect application for IMS and Ubiquity Software\\\\'s SIP Application Server.

Operators can launch Mobile MusicSharing on existing 3G networks now, and then smoothly migrate it to IMS later. The HP Service Delivery Platform can be used to streamline delivery into both types of networks.

"Mobile MusicSharing is a win-win for subscribers and operators," said Victor Donselaar, unit manager, Movial. "Subscribers finally can enjoy music together with their peers, something that has been missing in music applications."

Rob Taylor, vice president, Business Development, Ubiquity Software, added, "With MusicSharing, operators get an appealing service for young adults that can generate revenue, reduce churn - and provide a head start toward IMS-based services."
