Movial joins LiPS forum

HELSINKI, JANUARY 2, 2006

Movial announced today that it has joined the LiPS forum. By joining the LiPS forum, Movial can directly influence the standardisation of Linux, and work alongside of device vendors, operators, and other vendors.

"This further strengthens our commitment and contribution to promote and enhance the embedded Linux community" says Tomi Leskinen, Unit Manager Movial. "We believe that we will contribute to the standardisation of the higher layers of Linux that enable the applications and services for devices."

The Linux Phone Standards Forum (LiPS) is a consortium founded by a group of telephony operators, device manufacturers, silicon and software vendors who have a strategic focus on Linux® telephony. LiPS forum's focus is to define a standardized software platform which allows applications and services to be deployed across all types of Linux telephony terminals, fostering interoperability and promoting adoption of Linux.
