Movial Joins GSMA’s RCS Initiative Enabling Mobile Operators to Deploy Enhanced Services between Mobile and PC

Movial Actively Engaged in 5 RCS Compliant Operator Trials that Seamlessly Bridge Mobile with PC Service Offerings through Today’s IP Infrastructure

MOBILE ASIA CONGRESS — MACAU, China — November 18, 2008 — Movial, the company that inspires rich, intuitive Internet experiences, today announced it has joined the GSMA Rich Communications Suite (RCS) programme as a PC Client provider for the initiative. More than 40 companies are collaborating in the RCS programme including Telecom Italia, Telefonica, TeliaSonera, Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung.

Movial’s contribution to the RCS initiative, its Communicator PC software, enables mobile operators to seamlessly extend network-based enhanced service offerings to the PC environment, creating viral revenue generation – from increased group SMS and MMS messaging to group IP video telephony. Movial is actively engaged in five RCS compliant operator trials using its PC Client software and today’s IP Infrastructure to showcase a full RCS compliant offering across subscribers’ mobile and PC environments.

According to ABI Reseach, "RCS will enable interoperable rich communication regardless of device or network and will include in-call multimedia sharing, conversational messaging and presence-enhanced contact management for mobile and fixed customers," said Nadine Manjaro, ABI Research senior analyst.

With its compelling and fully integrated end-user experience, which includes IM, SMS, MMS, email, VoIP, video telephony, voice and video mail - all enabled with Presence technology - Movial Communicator PC embodies the first extension of a complete solution for rich multimedia communication.

“We are delighted to bring mobile group messaging to the RCS initiative,” said Jari Ala-Ruona, CEO and Co-Founder, Movial. “With over 15 commercial deployments of Movial’s Communicator software, we have the proven expertise to make RCS services a reality. Movial Communicator PC enriches the end-user experience by easily enabling subscribers to have the same mobile phone number as their PC. Subscribers can go back and forth between their mobile and PC and get all their same cool services -- regardless of device. Operators now have the means to offer a standardized and synchronized user experience across a subscriber’s handset and their computer.”

Movial participated in the Helsinki RCS TestFest, where Movial's clients proved highly successful. Movial is also contributing its Symbian S60 and Windows mobile client software to the RCS programme. A full update on the progress of the GSMA RCS initiative supported with live demonstrations will be showcased at the GSMA’s Mobile Asia Congress in Macau in November 2008.
