Movial IXS is a hardware independent white label software solution for fast and cost-effective creation of Linux-based mobile devices.

When Movial's user experience designers started the design work for Movial IXS, their aim was to create a highly task oriented user interface. The UI had to scale to various screen sizes and offer highly satisfactory user experiences with different input methods.

While the basics of the UI remain the same regardless of used hardware, Movial IXS was designed to enable UI customization for different screen sizes and input methods. This innovative approach generates high usability without
sacrifising scalability.

The Movial IXS user interface is built using standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). The use of web technologies allows for seamless integration of online data with the device's UI.

Combining online and on-device resources enabled our designers to build and integrate new kinds of services to the device's UI – for example the music player of Movial IXS can automatically fetch from online sources information about the artist, song lyrics and videos of the song that is currently playing.
